Madeleine and Will met on St. Patrick’s Day in Baton Rouge in March 2023 and immediately hit it off. Before they had even officially met, Will had seen Madeleine on a friend’s FaceTime and instantly knew he wanted to meet her.

From the beginning, everything felt easy. Their relationship quickly turned into weekends back and forth between Baton Rouge and Shreveport, never missing time together even during nearly a year of long distance. Between Red Dress Run in New Orleans (where Will, while wearing a red dress himself, officially asked Madeleine to be his girlfriend), Jazz Fest weekends, boat days, learning to surf, moving in together in Shreveport, and now exploring San Francisco with their dog Piroque, there was always something fun planned and another memory being made.

On December 18, 2025, Will proposed in San Francisco after convincing Madeleine to climb a few stairs to a small overlook because he had supposedly forgotten where their dinner reservation was. After complaining about her shoes the entire walk up, Madeleine reached the top to find the best surprise of her life overlooking the city they now call home.
